Immiscible solvents are incapable of mixing with another solvent and will separate out into a definite layer. Immiscible solvents cannot blend into or attain homogeneity with another liquid. These solvents are either miscible or immiscible in each other.👍 Correct answer to the question Predict whether the following pairs of liquids would be miscible or immiscible: a. water and methyl alcohol b. hexane and benzene c. methylene chloride and benzene d. water and toluene e. cyclohexanone and wate - e-eduanswers.comA 4.58 m solution of the solute methylene chloride dissolved in the solvent acetone is available. Calculate the mass ( kg ) of the solution that must be taken to obtain 0.8848 kg of methylene chloride. density: CH2Cl2-1.327 (g/mL) (CH3)2CO-0.7899 (g/mL) Organic Chem. Thymol is very slightly soluble in water and very soluble in 1.0 M NaOH. Explain Thymol has a hydroxide group, which allows it to hydrogen bond.

Since most of the extractions are performed using aqueous solutions (i.e., 5 % NaOH, 5 % HCl), the miscibility of the solvent with water is a crucial point as well as the compatibility of the reagent with the compounds and the solvent of the solution to beHi all, All the miscibility tables the old interwebs say that benzene is miscible with methylene chloride. I figured my particular metal complex is slightly soluble in methylene chloride and not soluble in benzene I'll dissolved some crude product in the methylene chloride layered it with benzene (solvent diffusion) but it seems that the benzene is not diffusing into the methylene chloride.Methylene chloride is polar in nature and benzene is nonpolar hence these liquid is immiscible in nature. d) Water and toluene water is polar in nature and toluene is nonpolar hence immiscible. e) Cyclohexanone and waterMethylene chloride or Dichloromethane and benzene are soluble' For Dichloromethane Miscibility / Immiscibility Table, please visit following link:
Hi all, All the miscibility tables the old interwebs say that benzene is miscible with methylene chloride. I figured my explicit metal advanced is quite soluble in methylene chloride and now not soluble in benzene I'll dissolved some crude product in the methylene chloride layered it with benzene (solvent diffusion) however it kind of feels that the benzene isn't diffusing into the methylene chloride. Usually I use hexane for my solvent diffusion crystallization but for this particular advanced these solvents are not generating X-ray high quality crystals. So heres my query: Is the speed of diffusion of benzene into methylene any slower then diffusion of Hexane into methylene chloride?
